It’s Time for a Summer Recharge!

When we were in school, summer was the time for us to recharge our batteries. We got three whole months to decompress from the school year by taking a mental break, getting more active, and spending time with our family and friends outside of a work setting. Nowadays it has become too easy for us to neglect our body’s need to rest when we are working year round.

That’s why we’re recommending a summer recharge! Prioritize your mental health this season and your body and mind will thank you for it. Recharging can take shape in many forms.

Here is a list of simple ways to recharge this summer:

  • Take morning or evening walks
  • Go on a weekend hike
  • Try new recipes with seasonal fruits and vegetables
  • Start a journal
  • Have friends and family over for dinner
  • Barbecue at a local park
  • Take your lunch break outdoors
  • Watch a guided yoga video on YouTube
  • Call a family member you haven’t spoken to in a while
  • Have an electronics free day or weekend
  • Spend intentional time with your loved ones
  • Go on a family bike ride
  • Read a new book or an old favorite
  • Try to spend at least 30 minutes outdoors a day
